Our Academics

Literacy
The literacy program, at Goroka Grammar School begins in Kindergarten where children are taught Literacy.This continues until Grade 5 when children transition into Language and Literature and a greater focus is placed on x.
To ensure the best for our students, Goroka Grammar School also has a x reading program where students are x and then graded on reading and comprehension grade level termly.

Personal Development
Personal development is also implement in Kindergarten at Goroka Grammar School. From Kindergarten to Grade 3 students learn about health and personal hygiene. From Grades 4 to 10, this progresses to x.

Mathematics
Mathematics begins in Kindergarten with simple numeracy, here students as young as x develop their ability to count, add, subtract, divide and multiply. This then becomes general maths from Grade 4 thought to Grade 10. The focus in general math is x.
In Grades 11 and 12, students either chose to take advanced math or continue with general mathematics.

Science
The science program at Goroka Grammar School begins in Kindergarten. We have children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 studying Environmental Sciences. This then progresses to General Sciences in Grades 4-10. A science stream preparation program is then offered to students at the end of Grade 10, introducing students to specialist subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In Grades 11 and 12, students are then offered, Applied Sciences, Geology, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Social Science
Social Science is another key area of study at Goroka Grammar School. From Kindergarten to Grade 3, students study society and environment. This focuses on x.
In Grades 4 through to 10, the course is titled Social Science and focuses on x. In grades 11 and 12, students are given the opportunity to study Geography, History or Legal Studies.

Business Studies
Business studies at Goroka Grammar School begins in Grade 7. We believe this is important for our students as x.
Business studies continues until Grade 10. In grades 11 and 12, students are given a choice of further Business studies, Accounting or Economics.
