Find quick answers to common parent questions about enrolment, uniforms, attendance, and communication with teachers. Admissions & Enrolment Q: When can I enrol my child at Goroka Grammar School? A: Enrolments are open year-round, depending on space availability. Early Learning accepts children from age 3, and enrolments are open for all grades from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Q: What documents are required for enrolment? A: You’ll need a completed enrolment form, recent academic transcript or report card, behaviour or character report, birth certificate, and one passport-sized photo. Q: Is there an enrolment fee? A: Yes. A non-refundable enrolment fee of K500 is required upon submission of forms. ⸻ Fees & Finance Q: When are school fees due? A: Fees must be paid in full before the start of each term unless a formal payment plan is approved by the Director of Operations. Q: Where can I pay school fees? A: Payments can be made via BSP, Kina Bank. •BSP: 1013732459 (Goroka Grammar School) •Kina Bank: 11270022 (Goroka Grammar School) Q: Are discounts available? A: Yes. Discounts apply for families with multiple children enrolled, early payment, and staff dependents as per the School Fee Policy. ⸻ Uniforms & Appearance Q: Where can I buy school uniforms? A: Uniforms are available at the Primary Campus Admin Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00–4:00 PM and during holidays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. Q: Are cultural or religious uniform variations allowed? A: No, GGS requires standard uniforms with school logos and approved tailoring. Cultural garments may be worn only on approved school events. ⸻ Behaviour & Discipline Q: What is the school’s discipline approach? A: GGS uses a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model with restorative discipline. Behaviour points and reflection sheets are used before escalation to suspension. Q: Are mobile phones allowed? A: No. Mobile phones are prohibited during school hours and at boarding. Confiscated devices are returned only to parents. ⸻ Attendance & Leave Q: What should I do if my child is sick or absent? A: Parents must inform the school by 9:00 AM. A medical certificate is required for all sick leaves. Q: How can boarders request leave? A: Boarders must complete a Boarding Leave/Permission Form and have approval from the Boarding Coordinator and Director of Operations before leaving campus. ⸻ Academics & Reporting Q: How often are report cards issued? A: Reports are issued each term and can also be accessed through the Parent Portal. Q: How does GGS handle academic honesty? A: All students must comply with the Academic Integrity Policy — cheating or plagiarism results in disciplinary action and possible grade penalties. ⸻ Health & Safety Q: What medical support is available for students? A: The school has an on-site nurse and First Aid facilities. Serious cases are referred to Goroka General Hospital. Q: What safety measures are in place in boarding? A: Boarding houses are supervised 24/7 by teachers and carers, with locked facilities, nightly roll calls, and monitored access points. ⸻ Communication & Contact Q: How can parents contact teachers or staff?
